The client came to us as part of the process of setting up an independent Practice and was looking for a provider who could be a one stop shop for their initial setup needs for an online presence.
Upon receiving the client’s answers to our questionnaire, we embarked on the logo creation journey. The chosen package dictates the number of initial logo concepts we present. In this instance, the client quickly identified and approved one of the initial designs. It’s not uncommon for there to be a series of revisions and exchanges to refine the logo further, which is a standard part of the process based on the selected package. Finalizing the logo is a critical first step, as it sets the foundation for all subsequent branding and design efforts.
With a finalised logo in hand, we proceeded to the website design phase. This process is divided into three key stages.
The first stage focuses on designing the homepage, which is often the most complex and time-consuming task. This is because the homepage not only serves as the primary entry point to the website but also often establishes the overarching style for the brand's online presence.
The second stage involves designing a variety of other pages to ensure a cohesive look and feel across the site.
The final stage is dedicated to completing the design of any remaining pages, based on the established layouts, and making final preparations for the website's launch.
Simultaneously with the website’s development, we began designing the client’s business stationery, focusing initially on business cards and letterhead. Typically, we present two comprehensive business card designs, allowing the client to select and customise their preferred option based on their package. In this case, we also designed a number of letterheads for various purposes including a version to be incorporated into the client’s Practice software, and then a design for a A5 flip pad which we organised to be printed along with the business cards (note we are not printers – we use a third party service for this).
The online marketing campaign begins at the same time the initial logo designs does. This is a time for setting up Google assets such as a temporary landing page on the domain, Maps, Google my Business, Analytics and other things to eventually ensure that when the website goes live, it does so with its best foot forward. After that we employ a number of strategies to steadily improve the business’ rankings, with the aim of eventually landing on the lucrative first page of Google, as soon as possible. Social media networks can be a great way to market your new business especially if you have a good offer that people might be interested in. However, like any marketing strategy, it should not be the ONLY strategy and we often suggest Facebook marketing in conjunction with other strategies.
