The client came to us wanting to take her business to the next level with a professional logo, website, stationery, as well as an online marketing campaign to improve the website appearance on Google, and a Facebook campaign to increase sales through the social media network. Essentially, it was a textbook approach to setting up and marketing a new business.
Once we had a viable logo, we were able to start the website design. The website design process has 3 distinct steps.
Design just the homepage (the page that first loads when you access any given website). This is normally the most involved part of the website design process as the homepage is normally the most complex design of the website, and quite often an overall style is being established for the business at the same time.
Design a cross section of other pages for the website.
Fill out any remaining pages using the layouts designed so far, and to prepare the website to go live.
In parallel to the website design, we also created some options for the client’s business cards and email signature. Normally we start with 2 whole business card designs and the client can pick and/or modify one as they see fit (depending on the package). The client combined her favourite elements from both provided options, and we then provided in turn the final files which she organised printing for locally. Once a style direction is established in the business cards we could then work on an email signatures (and/or other items such as brochures, letterhead, flip pad, letterbox flyers etc etc).
The online marketing campaign begins at the same time the initial logo designs does. This is a time for setting up Google assets such as a temporary landing page on the domain, Maps, Google my Business, Analytics and other things to eventually ensure that when the website goes live, it does so with its best foot forward. After that we employ a number of strategies to steadily improve the business’ rankings, with the aim of eventually landing on the lucrative first page of Google, as soon as possible. For more information about this please get in touch.
Social media networks can be a great way to market your new business especially if you have a good offer that people might be interested in. However, like any marketing strategy, it should not be the ONLY strategy and we often suggest Facebook marketing in conjunction with other strategies.
