Design Choices Matter
Every decision made leading up to the launch of your website matters in the customer journey. The design, structure and functionality, the story and the content, the usability, the accessibility and the speed of the site all combine to manifest your brand.
Take a look at your current site (if you have one). Does it look trustworthy? Your website says a lot about your business. It is the shopfront to your bricks and mortar store. An updated website with a sleek and tidy design and focus on user requirements is what makes the difference between visitors leaving right-away and visitors returning to your site. We believe in designing unique websites with a long lifecycle that provide lasting value for you and your customers.
To offer you a custom digital web design solution, we first seek an understanding of your business, with a particular focus on your unique sales proposition.
In the design phase, we use conversion-based design vectors in combination with your creative identity to create a beautiful website design.
Our website developers then work towards total compliance with WW3 style and formatting standards to deliver fully-optimised front-end code for your website.
From there, the back-end development phase rolls out and our team of web developers write clean, efficient code optimised for speed to make all the parts of your digital marketing engine work together.
We Design Websites For Success.
There is a big difference between custom website code and websites built with off-the-shelf WordPress themes. Designing websites shouldn’t conform to a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Your business is unique, and your website should be given proper attention to detail in every element of its construction.
custom web design?
We try to avoid mass-produced WordPress themes, preferring to code websites from scratch. This allows us to imbibe web applications with the power to transform and lift the perception of our clients’ brands online.
We design and build your website from the ground up to meet the unique goals of your business. All aspects of the site, from its allure and tactile function, to its usability and loading speed are engineered to improve the user experience for you and the customer journey for your visitors.
a bought theme?
A cheap way to design a website is to just buy a pre-designed, off-the-shelf WordPress theme simply inject some content in and wait for traffic. Building a website this way is only a half-hearted attempt at doing the job, and the inclusion of vestigial code could be doing more harm than good to your brand or business.
Your website is a 24/7 marketing channel that should be designed for show and work hard to convert your visitors to paying customers.
themes can be bad.
Every now and then we have a new client approach us with a store-bought WordPress theme. The flaws and limitations of their website are always incredibly evident.
WordPress themes are designed with a plug-and-play approach, which, in theory, sounds great, however, all that vestigial functionality can make a site hard to update and slow to load from all that extra weight. This can be penalised by Google when it’s deciding who to rank in what position.
Google now employs a mobile-first approach to indexing, categorising and ranking websites, so it’s now more important than ever to invest in a highly-functional responsive design.
We design a mobile-friendly user experience that ensures users on-the-go can access the most important content on your site easily and rapidly from any device. We facilitate you standing out from the crowd with a custom responsive web design.
A website is often the first point of contact with a brand in any customer journey. If your audience arrives at your non-responsive site using a mobile device, the site will display in such a way that users will need to scroll and zoom to view a page. Furthermore, essential website elements may not function as intended. Fully-functioning mobile-friendly menus and content that displays correctly on handheld devices are the fastest ways to gain an online customer while improving the perception of your brand.

What is the Turnaround on Website Construction?
The time it takes to provide a web design brief and finish construction of your website can vary depending on the size and complexity of your business. A typical WordPress website usually take around four to six weeks from concept design to upload to Google and other search engines. Some more-complex projects, like WooCommerce and Shopify websites with a lot of products, or websites that require complicated design assets or extensive content writing can take longer.
What Is A Static Website?
There are two types of websites: dynamic and static. Dynamic websites allow users to login to accounts, to comment on content and to share posts on social media. Static websites, on the other hand, are limited in their functionality and can only display the content stored on a web server as a single asset. Users visiting static websites cannot perform any of the functions listed above. Static websites are incredibly efficient and lightweight. They are also very secure because they do not combine multiple assets to provide complex functionality. The intersection of multiple web technologies can sometimes be exploited by hackers to steal data.
What Is A Content Management System (CMS)?
A content management system is a website framework which stores all the content that is included in a website: themes, text, images, videos and documents. A content management system includes a theme which is responsible for a website’s visual appearance and content structure. A CMS can also include third-party plugins to provide extra functionality not included in the standard installation. CMS systems are built with code, but are operated by a navigating through a system of menus and sub-menus. In other words, no knowledge of code is needed to operate a CMS.
What Content Management System Do We Use?
At the Web Design Company we use the WordPress CMS to build all of our websites. WordPress is highly customisable and plugs in to Google very well. The system is easy to use and update. We actually offer lessons to our clients to teach them how to manage their website content and upload new information. We enhance the standard WordPress CMS with our proprietary WP Bakery template. WP Bakery is similarly intuitive and makes updating a website and uploading new content very easy. It is used to structure web pages with text, images, videos and other styling elements. We use some third-party plugins to augment our clients’ sites with extra functionality like contact and popup forms and home page sliders. All the plugins we use are from trusted sources which have been verified as safe and secure.
Does A Design Impact A Website’s Search Engine Ranking?
To a degree, yes. There’s a lot that influences how your website will rank in search engines: a plethora of criteria a SEO Consultant can provide. But well-thought -out design, code formatting, inclusion of keywords, link building and the speed of a website are just some of the things an effective web designer would think about when creating a custom-designed website.
We’ve been lucky enough to work with clients from all over Australia and internationally. Given the nature of our business, in these cases we work remotely. However, if you are in Sydney, there’s nothing nicer than meeting face-to-face.
